"I guess the point is you don't get something for nothing." I can agree with that and with your statement about Al.

The point I was trying to make was that the problems with nuclear waste are dramatic and well known. The problems with waste from producing and burning coal are much less dramatic but many believe that due to the immense quantity of waste produced by burning coal, the problems are even greater. I have never been to China, but I am hearing some real horror stories about air quality and the huge numbers of people exposed to discharges from make-shift blast furnaces, smelters, generators etc.
