Considering the various interpretations of the hidden Imam stuff- how does that square with the above? It seems to me that since there are various sects- you have to choose. How do you know if Allah will tell you that you chose well?

The problem is Sultan, you can find thousands of often contradictory statements in ANY religious text, be it the Koran, the Bible, the Torah or the Upanishads. And you'll find people that interpret them to suit their agendas.

So, all those old books are interesting, and useless for guidance. Look to your own conscience for counsel.
