In a way I have done the same thing. I usually own only 2 or 3 stocks so have large positions. I may still like one and be selling some at the same time. An example is I owned WGDF and GGC for months on end. Once in a while I would sell some and then buy CAU which failed, or GGN which failed, or SNS which I listed as a short term play.

I still really like GGC and WGDF and sing their praises all the time but I sold some of each as I needed to buy USA.

But that is different than what we are basically talking about.

Anyhow the market dictates some of trading and things can change in a heart beat so one you like you may hate 15 minutes later...................

Different trading styles also. I have done much better when I try to buy and hold and not day trade.
