Agree -- this could not be more... incorrect. Bad guys of all stripes keep networking on the Web all the time.

The most important point that Strategy Page misses on AQ commo is that cells need very little contact and in some cases none to function quite well.

AQ has morphed into a flat, (almost) leaderless org with an ever increasing base.

Alcoholics anonymous is another very successful org that has similar structure. Another is the Internet.

Taking out a few thousand AQ cells, a few thousand Internet servers, or a few thousand AA groups will have little to no negative impact on this type org. In AQs case it may even help expand the org because the militants that join want to die as martyrs to get to heaven. As they see others doing that successfully, they want on board.
