Still, how activist can he be with only 3% of the shares? He's got a long way to go before he is close to having some meaningful influence over the board. Even if he gets a few funds to side with him, he's miles away from getting a seat on the board.

And if MOT blows up this Q (which lots of research has indicated) with a stuffed channel and falling profitability in the aging cell phone line, there's no way the board is going to spend cash which may be needed for future restructuring on share repurchase.
