until priesthood proved themselves less than reliable. give me a break. some priests have problems but not the whole society. I expect the reduction in youth groups if there are a reduction in them is related to people being less active in the church , like attending services.. joining religious associated organizations which have almost dried up. it is a social change not a result of priests being less reliable. i guess your vote is do away with catholic charities , who do handle various function including adoptions. do away with salvation army, oh, not do away with them but tax any money donated to them that they in turn move perhaps a lot cheaper and more efficient than gov. The first assistance given of any real measure were the churches around new Orleans. i wonder how many would survive if they had to pay taxes on their assets, donations.
