I'm gonna go out on a limb to state that I dont believe that Dems have a lock on the white house in 09.

Bush has been underestimated far too many times to believe that the Republicans wont find reasons to start rallying behind him, particularly if the reports from Iraq improve,

or,

We are in heated battle with iran at the time of the election and Bush can declare a "stay the course with the horse you know" credo
