rkral, "Doesn't Qualcomm have to wait until a payment due" - I guess you don't mean payment due using Nokias IPR, starting today. Since Jacobs said both companies would start to infringe today, maybe a token 10 million or so would have been good?

As a holder of both NOK & some QCOM, to me this is just wasted energy & money. Entropy.

Doesn't Qualcomm have to wait until a payment due date has passed for which there is either no payment or maybe at least the receipt of underpayment?

I dont think you have to wait until a lack of payment. Nokia's rights to Q's patents expired yesterday and since they havent exercized their option, any sales of WCDMA products are now infringing.

I just called the Nokia Flagship store in Chicago and they have a N73 for sale. I would think that this would consitute infringement since this is a direct sale from Nokia.
