Biofuels Expert Dr. David Bransby Joins Earth Biofuels Advisory Board
28 March, 2007

Earth Biofuels, Inc. (OTCBB: EBOF) today announced that Dr. David Bransby, an Auburn University professor of agronomy and soils and a nationally recognized authority on biofuel alternatives, has joined the company’s Advisory Board.
“The United States accounts for 25 percent of the global consumption of oil, but we own only 3 percent, making us critically vulnerable,” says Dr. Bransby. “We import more than 60 percent of what we use, and 15 percent of what we use comes from the unstable Middle East. It’s not possible to replace that 60 percent in the near term, but it is possible to replace the 15 percent in a relatively short period of time. I hope to assist in that effort through my work and association with Earth Biofuels.”

“We are extremely pleased that Dr. Bransby has accepted our invitation to serve on the Earth Biofuels Advisory Board,” said Earth Biofuels Chairman and CEO, Dennis McLaughlin. "He is an internationally recognized expert on bioenergy crops and technologies, and has extensive knowledge in the area of cellulosic ethanol production. Over the next weeks and months he will help guide us as we consider cellulosic ethanol technologies."

Dr. Bransby has 30 years of experience in agricultural research specializing in grassland (rangeland and improved pasture) management, and 20 years of experience in research and development of energy crops and bioenergy. His research program in each of these fields is the largest of its kind in the United States. Dr. Bransby has attracted over $7 million in grant funds, mainly from the US Department of Energy and USDA, to conduct his research, and he is author of over 300 professional publications and inventor on several patents. Recent projects include a $2.6 million test with the Southern Company and Alabama Power in which switchgrass was co-fired with coal to produce electricity at Plant Gadsden in Alabama, and a commercial scale co-gasification project with Tampa Electric Company in Florida. Dr. Bransby has both a national and international reputation for his work in agriculture and bioenergy, and serves on the Board of Directors of the New Uses Council and the Southern Alliance for the Utilization of Biomass Resources. He is also on the Editorial Board of the international journal, Biomass and Bioenergy.

With the recent increase in the prominence of biofuels and the role they can play in national security, as well as environmental and rural economic sustainability around the world, Dr. Bransby has become a sought after speaker at conferences nationally and internationally, and a valued source of information and advice in the field of biofuels. He serves as a consultant to several companies, and has a wealth of knowledge and professional and business contacts in the biofuels industry. He is an advisor for US Senator Jeff Sessions and Congressman Mike Rogers from Alabama, as well as the White House, and was recently requested by the White House to brief President Bush on the development status of cellulosic ethanol in the United States.
