An overseas friend of mine came to visit me, dropped $ 10K in $100 bills and asked me to give it to an evangelist whose head office is not far from my house. Two weeks later he returned from his crusade and I went to his HO to deliver my friend's contribution. I took my 10 year old truck, wore raggedy clothing and came to the lobby. The receptionist looked at me funny since I told her that I need to personally meet the evangelist - who at that time had not arrived. She reluctantly told me to wait in the lobby. The man of God arrived in a brand new Mercedes Benz which was parked next to my old truck. A secretary fetch him and took his briefcase. I greeted him at the lobby and mentioned my friend's name. He immediately hugged me - to the amazement of the receptionist - and led me to his spacious beautiful office. I gave him the bundle of money and asked for a receipt for my friend. The evangelist asked me to kneel and prayed for me and for my friend. He told me that the contribution from my friend would be used towards buying a private plane so he can travel all over the world to spread the gospel. Since then I got solicitation for donation which comes once a month, and an offer to ride with him in his plane. Just like Bush's Ranger. One year later I bumped into him at the nursery of Home Depot. He drove a late model Lexus. Who says that preaching is not a profitable business? Why can't he live like Mother Theresa and give all that money to help the poor?
