"Why don't they get their act together so that we can leave and they can enjoy Democracy and freedom?"

Why did the Balkans erupt into bloodshed after Tito died? Pretty much the same question with a similar answer. Or when the old Soviet Union fell apart and all those various republics started squabbling. When long term blood feuds are held in check by authoritarian rulers, they seize the first opportunity to settle those ancient accounts.

It isn't like this is a huge surprise. Cheney himself mentioned it as a likely outcome during Gulf War I. He exhibited some good sense. Sadly, he got over it...

Why don't they get their act together so that we can leave and they can enjoy Democracy and freedom? I lay that blame right at the doorsteps of stupid Muslims who would rather fight each other and kill a bunch of innocent civilians, rather than build a free country together.

Back when the New World of the Americas was discovered, didn't a bunch of Christians spend a lot of time killing each other One group eventually dominated the others (French, Spanish, British, etc.) and declared independence, and then killed each other in massive numbers to outlaw slavery. Was that a bunch of stupid Christians killing each other, or your average every day quest for domination over your neighbor?

OK. I agree that repression is a contributing factor to terrorism, but then why is there so much terrorism in Iraq? Why don't they get their act together so that we can leave and they can enjoy Democracy and freedom?

Because democracy ain't worth a buck if you don't have a job and 36% of Iraqis are unemployed....and many more are underemployed. Remember how the US didn't do a lot of post war planning when Bush decided to attack Iraq. Well?

I lay that blame right at the doorsteps of stupid Muslims who would rather fight each other and kill a bunch of innocent civilians, rather than build a free country together.

You are being unfair. If you lived in the conditions that Muslims, do you would be a very different person from the one you are now.

And remember Muslims are capable of doing great things........revisit this slide show of Teheran. Teheran could be any city in the US and Europe. Look at the people closely.....they are artistic, into sports, eat hamburgers, enjoy life....just like Americans. Look at the buildings, at the tree lined streets, the backdrop of the mts, fountains.......these are creative people who like beauty:

Forget the rhetoric of Bush and Ahmadinejad......they don't truly represent Americans and Iranians. Again, we, the people, need to take charge.
