no one has mentioned this, but that group of young ladies have the option to sue Mr Imus. They also have the option to sue the makers of the 600 rap songs calling them and the black women around them Ho's. The term is in common usage to refer to black women, as disgusting as that is, and Black Culture created it, promoted it, and is responsible for it. White people used the word whores it is in the bible. So if a black man refers to women as Ho's it is their creative culture, and if a white man uses the same word in the same context it is racism. There are such things as black racists.

Like it or not Don Imus lives in a culture where black men call women Ho's and bitches Mostly by black men. But that doesn't count. It doesn't count when blacks call for killing members of other races either, does it? That's OK. in every kind of media, perhaps the solution is for women to demand better from black men. Quit talking and do it. I don't treat women that way. And I can produce witnesses. But if you insist on allowing people to call degrading women art I haven't. Have you? and insist that because they are Black it is acceptable I haven't. Have you? then expect the rest of the culture come to the same conclusion. I haven't. Have you? Look at the way Black American Culture glorifies Pimps and Drug Dealers and then get back to me about their sensitivity on the subject. Am I to dictate their culture? Who am I to have that right? God? And they seem to object to ANYONE else doing that. You think maybe this is a problem they have to solve on their own? And applying these labels to all blacks is itself racist- -exactly the objection about Imus. I know personally blacks who are so far from your stereotype (AND THAT'S WHAT IT IS!) that they would be justifiably insulted and enraged. Have you bought your white robe and hood yet???? I am certain you can come up with a long list about what is wrong with black culture in America and you can also come up with a long list of bad things committed by black people against white folks. I suppose that's a weak try to excuse Jackson and Sharpton and many others. Pretty weak. If they want racism stopped, they start by stopping themselves. The first time they throw out a racial epithet, they give others permission to throw them back. On the other hand you can also create a long list of black folks suffering at the hands of white folks. A guy in Palestine 2,000 years ago suggested a solution. So did the other response to this. Heard of slander? It's a civil offense. I am also certain that if you had a choice as to being a black victim or white victim - I know how most people would vote. I don't know. When are you ready to condemn BLACK racists and sexists?

Mary, there's an idea back of this maybe you've not heard of. It certainly seems unpopular with liberals and Democrats- -and Europeons- -these days. It's "the marketplace of ideas". Basically, it says let anyone throw anything out there- -with certain narrow exceptions- -and let the people sort it ouy. They've got enough sense to ignore nutcases. In Europe, there are laws against "hate speech"; here it is regarded as protected exercise of free speech. It is up to the adult population to sort out conflicting ideas and claims. Good ideas survive; bad ones get thrown out. Sometimes with their authors. Like Imus. Frank;y, I like the American idea. I don't like the Europeon idea. Who's to say what's hateful and what isn't? Hitler? Shall the ideas that Jews should be allowed to live normal lives in normal society and practice their religion be considered hateful?
