I am sorry, Don Imus said something stupid. It wasn't earth shaking, he didn't call to kill anyone, which people accept, he made a stupid comment about a basketball team.

We have turned a team full of vibrant women athletes, into a weeping wailing bunch of victims. Their victory is overshadowed by their victimhood. Imagine if we had said, Oh don don't be so stupid and had spent the time talking about these young ladies and how hard they worked to get where they are. Instead of creating an inspiration, we have simply created a whole whack more victims.

Hasn't everyone here, except for Mz Cluney I suppose, said something so damnably stupid that you instantly regretted it? I have, why should don Imus be any different. But the politics of Race, have made his dumb remark into a three day chance to bash whitey and created the image of those poor black waifs who can't stand up for themselves and are just crushed, crushed I tell you, by a dumb remark from some dumb ole white cracker. Frankly I saw those young women on television, too bad they hadn't spent the three days interviewing them instead of old black bigots and given America a view of the Black reality we so seldom are shown. Young Smart Black people with values and drive and ambition that was a story worth telling, beating our breasts and whining about what the mean man said is just dumb..
