Robert,

I'm pretty sure Rupert was talking about lifting the bans for Ephud, Mas, and now maybe also Pirasa2 who got a month recently. He wanted to leave the bans for Tcmay, Paul Engel, and Yousef in place because they predated his involvement with the board.

Regards,

Rink

I am not seeking support. I put my name forward because I was asked. I'm stating what I would do if I were moderator.

The current moderator is an activist who made his changing rules and his moderation the focus of much discussion. In the process he provoked many sterile and bad-tempered discussions that changed the nature of what had been a successful board.

He dealt with the problem he created by relegating discussion of his moderation to the unmoderated AMD board - and banning anyone who tried to raise it where it should have been raised and always was before - on the AMD moderated board.

He then banned some of those who were provoked but not others.

The liberal policy I favour would call for a non-activist moderator who relied on the experience and self desicipline of the participants. Occasional lapses would be tolerated without making a fuss of them. Persistent offenders would be banned for increasing lengths of time.
