It's fairly common knowledge that the Shah was preceded by his father, who was forced to abdicate by the Allies after WWII. A nationalist was elected Prime Minister but was forced out by a coup underwritten by the CIA in favor of Reza Pahlavi's monarchy.

Does this offend your sensibilities, or would you rather have the other side calling the shots?
