JJ, rupert just wants himself and his buddy mas to control the other board. He'll then ban Sarmad and myself, and any other posters who are too "pro-Intel" for his tastes. If this happens, the "mas/rupert" faction will control 2 boards on SI, and 1 board on iHub.

You should not assume what my motive is.

I agree that banning people can be justified. Thats' why I said I would follow these guidelines:

"Moderation will be liberal to encourage searching questions and open discussion in a lively and pleasant atmosphere. I will rely heavily on the self-discipline and experience of posters.

Any board can be negatively affected by posters who are often off-topic,or who bait others in a personal or insulting manner,or post often without content. I do not expect to be asked to deal with occasional lapses. But if there are persistent offenders I will use bans of increasing duration."

"What is wrong with banning people who make trouble? Has nothing to do with like/dislike."

No one has ever been banned because they were disliked. In every case they pushed the limits, and then some. In the cases where they were widely disliked, the moderators actually bent over backwards to cut them slack.

jjay,

I hope all is well with you. I guess the EPS contest has lost its lustre.
