So far the ban list has all right people except mas_ and pirasa2 (I can't identify why pirasa2 was banned). I think that dougSF30 and Sarmad are two other good candidates for the list, and the AMD thread should be fine. Nice one, Ali. Please note that it is rupert1, mas_, and pirasa2 who have actually unleashed vicious tirades against me and others on the SI Mod board. the SI Admin even had to come in to delete their posts, and admonish them on bad behavior. There is no way rupert1 should be allowed to moderate both boards on SI, especially given his history on the SI Mod thread. What would be okay is making it simply "unmoderated" but subject (as all boards are) to the SI TOU.

Ali Chen Very well put. The speed limit would probably prevent me making the 20 or so posts of news links about AMD that I used to make on the AMD board and now make on the AMD v Intel board. I've explained my thoughts on the speed limit in an earlier post. Essentially I think its a bad rule that is designed to trap a very small number but applies to all. The very small number ignore it anyway or find ways of abusing it. They'll even use their lawyerly skills to cite the rule in their defence. And the board and the moderator is drawn into the trap of debating it with them. The persistent offenders should be suspended without debate until they adjust their behaviour. You mentioned which names should and should not be banned. I said in my first post that I would respect the long-standing bans that predate my involvement in the board. But I would lift all the the recent bans. This may mean allowing back someone you think should be banned. But you have said in your post that there are others not banned who should be banned. You have also said that some names banned should not have been banned. So perhaps it is fairer to give everybody an opportunity for a fresh start. If persistent offenders appear, they will be banned.
