Fair enough. We just see the same things in a different way.

My main point was how do you show when you have succeeded? Racially balanced? The NBA is not racially balanced. It's based upon the quality of the players.

Why would you want to implement quotas in areas where non-minorities excel in performance if you're unwilling to implement quotas in areas where minorities are the majority because of performance? The fact that there are more blacks than whites playing in the NBA IS discrimination.

I will repeat we need to start in the educational system that has failed all kids, including minorities. But the teacher's union and tenure prevents that.

We currently have a mess here. The school superintendent has raised test scores since he took over and implemented merit pay raises for teachers at some locations as a trial. Those schools where he has implemented merit teacher pay raises, the children's test scores showed the largest improvement, including the gap between the best and worse scores decreasing. Now some board members want to get rid of him because he has basically thumbed his nose at the teacher union (tenure) and has the parents on his side because of the merit teacher pay raises and improved test scores.

In the end, the four black members voted for the hearing and the three white members voted against it.

Mr Brooks, the superintendent is black.
