Yes, I agree, if only to demonstrate loud and clear that false accusations will be punished. The consequences under NC law (not to mention politics) may have played a part in Cooper's decision, we probably won't ever know exactly. Cooper did say that CGM did believe her stor(ies) were true and wanted to the case to go to trial. Can you imagine the interviews with her? Impossible to reason with someone like that.

I want to see the Group (Gang) of 88 [the Duke Professors] issue a public apology. It ought to be printed in the same newspaper their original statement was in and should occupy as much space.

I'm sure we'll never see it.
