I wasn't quibbling with your numbers. Rather, "How do you reconcile the numbers?" wasn't directed at "you" per se but meant as the question of how does "one" reconcile the numbers to which I intended to offer an answer.

Actually, I think you're on target.

I missed prior posts opining that a cap on ASP would not lower the numbers enough. I just don't know, but I suspect that a 2001 cap would have been relatively low in today's market for high-end phones. There could also be stated ceilings too on, let's say, an annual basis or on an annual basis for certain kinds of products. Any of these things can lower the effective royalty rate. There are so many ways the numbers can be manipulated or analyzed.
