I notice that you replace a lot of 'c's with 's's as in 'practi<b<se'.... btw, what do you think of the Rutgers team members making comments like Imus' statements ruined their lives or that his comments robbed them of their season or sentiments to that effect? I will tell you my views. I thought those comments were ridiculous. I thought that those women/girls had extremely bad, short-sighted advisors. I also thought that the Duke men/boys had equally bad advisors. What is with this love affair with victimhood? Were I advising the Duke guys, I would never have allowed them to put their faces all over the media just to have their 15 minutes basking in a wave of self-righteousness, justified or not. If anything needed to be said, I'd have it said by spokespersons or lawyers. It's the same reason that lawyers call the wife and friends to testify about the devastating effects of an injury upon the plaintiff. He looks better if he's seen as a stoic and not a whiner. I can remember the left bemoaning how we looked to Europe during the Clinton impeachment proceedings. "Oh," they moaned, "all this over something as simple as sex...tsk tsk..." At least the Duke situation legitimately ruined lives. But the Rutgers basketball team takes the cake for the most disproportionate reaction to anything....It was really sickening to listen. Believe me, I'm not defending Imus' stupidity. But, good grief, stupidity surely begets stupidity in this '15 minutes of fame' society in which we live. I'd have told the Rutgers team to hold their heads high and say that the views of a person like Imus have no effect on them. They know their own worth. He apologized. They're moving on. They have better things to do then be involved in ridiculous controversy.
