If those young men had not been rich, they would be in prison and probably dead for a rape that never happened.

That's the scariest part.

If a woman wants to put someones life in danger by accusing them of gang rape, and it didn't happen, they should at the minimum face Prison. This woman lied, as far as we can tell, let's put her on trial, and find out if a jury of her peers decides that she, with malice and aforethought, decided to endanger the lives and ruin the reputations of three fine young athletes. Why are their lives worth less than the Basketball team. Don Imus was destroyed for three words, this woman made an illegitimate rape complaint. or so we are told. Put her on trial and give us the proof. If she is innocent tell us, if she is guilty, put her in prison so that it doesn't happen again.

Absolutely. But it's not going to happen. The "criminal justice" system in Durham is one reason I would never consider sending my kid to school there. Yeah, it "could" happen anywhere, but it DID happen in Durham. Not going to take the chance.
