I went a long time ago, so I'm sure it's all different now. And I do not have a cast iron stomach- and I'm very sensitive to come bacteria.

I have a cast-iron stomach myself, strangely enough when I used to travel in central america I tended to be the only one in the group with an adequate supply of immodium, I carry a large supply just in case. Why people whose stomachs are easily upset don't carry a medicine cabinet with them I'll never understand.

One night the river guide bought us a dinner of tamales from a street vendor, saying don't worry it's perfectly safe to eat (really he was just trying to save some money), I got woken up that night by everybody in the group, including the river guide, begging for immodium. I found the tamales very tasty and they went down well.

Only time I've gotten sick from food was when I ate a sandwich I bought at a convenience store here in Florida, I imagine it was salmonella, the stomach cramps were really hard to take, I wouldn't wish it on anyone.
