all they care about is power... as quick as they were to run down to duke and condemn those boys, it is not about good vs bad it's all about themselves.

It's accurate to say that Sharpton is a process headed fool.

I believe Imus was on Mars when he made his remark.

I do not think the killer for Imus was using the phrase "nappy headed".
It was -
1. His naming those young gals "hos".
2. His attempts to justify the remarks to others including Sharpton.
3. His post event failures.

When challenged, Imus became arrogant and stupid. He issued a weak and unacceptable apology (Saying, "I'm sorry I said it.") to (of all people) Sharpton. He needed to apologize directly and personally to the women he insulted.

Imus needed to acknowledge and be sorry for the hurtful insult and the bruises his words inflicted, not merely the fact that he said those words.

When a man insults a woman, even inadvertently, he incurs an obligation to apologize to that woman and the sooner the better.
Angrily issuing a sideways apology to a third person has never and will never cut it.

If Imus had immediately sent those gals flowers with an I'm sorry card. Then told each of them directly, privately and personally something like, "I'm sorry. It was a stupid remark. I didn't mean it the way it sounded. It was a stupid attempt at illegitimate humor. I am sincerely sorry for hurting you." Then requested their forgiveness, He might have survived.

Instead he tried to justify his insult by saying others use the same words. That is a childish excuse borrowed by an arrogant adult and it is unacceptable...as unacceptable as the event itself.

Imus lacks basic manners.

NBC acted stupid initially when they suspended Imus for two weeks. That is a child's punishment.
