If the Kurds dont create a crisis with Turkey (our long time ally) and we abandon them I will be ASHAMED of America. As you say, the Kurds are among our best friends in the middle east and have worked hard with their own blood, sweat and tears to make something out of their destiny rather then destroy as the Arabs seem to do. jdn

Sounds like they are willing to abandon the Kurds, the most pro-American Muslim population in the world. If that happens, why would anyone ever ally with America?

Of course we'll ditch the Kurds. Nothing prevented Congress from abandoning our friends in South Vietnam, what makes anyone think we won't ditch a few million Kurds in turn?
