The Med is so beautiful and the cities are so colorful and historic. I love everything about Europe. I would live there if I had the chance. Everything in Ca is so new so Europe is such a treat for me. The older buildings and churches with the different architecture is fascinating. The cultures and eating habits all fascinate me too. We are staying in a pensione in Venice that was recommended by Rick Steves ( travel guru).It's a 12th century building run by a family and sits on the Grand Canal between the Venice fish and vegetable market. His books are full of great ideas. I wouldn't leave for Europe without his guide to that area. He'll give you a glimpse that is so helpful and guide you to places that are less expensive but more interesting................you get to mingle more with the locals.
