The only exception for me is King Crab legs.

Your post really confirms my observation based on many years of quality dining and wining: There are two kinds of people, crab eaters and the others, the non crab eaters.

Working with the crab is a large if not the greatest part of enjoying this meal!
Yes, those tiny spicy ones in DC - or better in Baltimore close to the harbor - really are delicious - and so is the ambiente if I may call it that with newspapers on the tables.

Dungeness is also good when you get them alive right out of the ocean in AL, say in Homer. King Crabs are best from Norway (!) when enjoying them at that King Crab only restaurant in London.
Or try out the crabs up in Scandinavia, cold water does wonders to them as to the Lobster, with the ones from Norway arguably being the best, period.
Small hairy crabs in Asia, try them in Hongkong, expensive though.
Or real fresh Stone Crab claws in season in Florida, good stuff!
I just mentioned but a small sample of the the large choice of this delicate animal, other crab eaters nod to each others - and me - in full agreement.

We are the insiders, the crab eaters.

Oops, forgot East Coast Rd, Singapore.
