Michael, my only geneticist background is knowing that the Biblical Moses as well as Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the Jewish patriarchs, were known to be Semites whose descendants are most likely the Sephardic Jews of today. The Russian Jews came from different destinations other than the Holy Lands, intermarried but still claim their Jewish heritage thru their mothers, but the direct line to the patriarchal Jews can be traced thru the bloodlines of the Sephardic Jews. jewfaq.org
