Well I'm doing well enough that my wife has finally stopped asking me if I know what I'm doing :O)

A bit confused about what to do currently, but:

Up about 12% ytd in main retirement account (stocks/mutuals only).

Up about 40% ytd in main taxable trading account (stocks and options).

How are we doing? Well I convinced my wife to retire early. I am taking money out of the market to materially change my life style. I am far more concerned now about risk than gain.

I am seriously interested in risk mitigation strategies used by board members. Things I have done include:

1. Selling calls on half of my positions when they price looks extended.

2. Getting out of stocks that are simply wait and hold situations.

3. Writing down specifically why I hold what I hold.

4. Watching charts like a hawk.

The one joy I get out of this is my wife claimed I waste far too much time on the internet. Well - the rewards are showing now. This board, a few others and some never met internet friends have paid off hugely. I can even afford to still go to Canada - lol!

Board - watch the gold shares. In particular - take a look at US Silver - V.USA. If nothing else - I like the symbol. The whole Idaho Silver Valley is a returning opportunity.
