Poor Germany and Japan, losing millions of lives to the allies, including close to 200,000 civilians in nuclear strikes. And all America lost is 500,000 soldiers. On the contrary, Germans gave as good as they got. It was the Japanese who got screwed when we dropped nukes. Why did we nuke two of their cities? Wouldn't one city have made the statement we were trying to make? Think of it......we nuked two cities. The only time nukes have been used on a civilian population. Do you think there was a lot of American handwringing before and after?
