The other technique you can use -- koan does this very well -- is to rotate to different classes within the same sector as the markets evolve.

I have been been selling my bigger nickels -- I have sold all of my RNG warrants as well as enough LBE to be down to free shares, and am planning to sell enough BMC shortly to be down to free shares on that one too -- and have rotated into smaller ones like FNI and GBK.

However, in general I am willing to ride out corrections as I expect the commodity bull has years left to run. Fortunately, Jackjc will let us know when it's over. <vbg>

We'll see about that, but I prefer the gold blast without stocks
following theory. Used this around 97 or so to exit Newmont and Placer Dome within 1/4 point of the highs.

But kept all my small jrs for the ride down. Must have thought they
could overcome the downdraft somehow.

Need to find out if any smarter this time. Planning to scale out
slowly somehow and avoid all new positions no matter how tempting.
Your $200 advance in couple weeks might be just the place to start.

But I won't buy back for the 2nd move up, 7 years of this has
given a good cushion.
