To me, the requirements for being a Christians are a lot more involved than simply saying you're one. You think the requirements for being a Christian is just simple stated belief.

Yes, but isn't that true of any religion including Muslims. I say I was born Christian but I haven't been inside a church in five years. You may go to church every week. Two Arabs may call themselves Muslims but one blows himself up while the other goes to his Mosque peacefully every Friday. Within any religion there is a huge range of people.........some good, some bad. So trying to decide whether Islam is a religion of peace or not seems to be a rather wasted effort. After all, like most religions, it can be both: one of peace and one of violence.
