My contact with the Saudi Royals told me in October 2001 that "all the guys in Dubai knew something big was going to happen". So if the guys in Dubai knew, the CIA knew, the White House knew and Cheney-Bush (in that order) might have said -- "Okay let's let them bomb something, let's let down our guard to let them do it, then use that to blame Saddam and invade Iraq. Priority #1, grab the oilfields and then maybe we can move in Iran and grab theirs. We end up with 40% of the world's oil reserves then we team with Saudi and Kuwait and we rule it all." That is a Texas Bushie's ultimate wet dream. There were also the rightwing Zionists and military-industrial profiteers in on this, plys the Big Oil gougers. All of them win. Everyone else loses. It was never about counter-terrorism. In fact Bushies like a certain amount of terrorism to keep oil prices high.
