We already have a reasonable idea of what AMD will be putting out, based on what they have said, and not said. Barcelona will lose to Clovertown on most apps, let alone Penryn. Clock-for-clock, *on average*, Barcelona may outperform Clovertown by 10%, if AMD is lucky, but Clovertown will hold a 20% clock advantage. Penryn will likely push the IPC contest to a draw, and increase the clock advantage to 30-40%. There will be specialized bandwidth-critical apps where Barcelona wins, especially in 4P, but that's it.

Then there is AMD's advertised "slow ramp", "2007 is about design wins", "no financial impact until Q4", etc.
