You can interview a few Lawyers and than decide what you want to do. However, from your comments so far, I have a strong feeling that you want to avoid the expense of Lawyers drawing up your estate. Given this is the case, I guess you can do it on your own.

So, I wish you the best of luck.

Hi Dan,

I'm not an attorney. I have nothing against attorneys. That said, they can be quite expensive, so I understand where you're coming from.

The thing to remember is that the Living Trust (or whatever document you eventually use) is the final document of your life. Everything you ever did, everything you can "control" from the grave is wrapped up in that document. It's the single most important document at the end of your lifetime.

Do it yourself and (in theory) you could screw it up. In some states, one mistake is sometimes enough to void the entire document. That's not a chance I'm willing to take. My attorney is worth every penny paid for that final document.

My wife and I have an irrevocable trust, and we paid plenty to have it created, some 10 or more years ago now. We likely should revisit it because laws have changed and many of our beneficiaries have themselves passed away. We'll pay the going rate, and sleep all the better for having done it that way...

EK!!!
