yes, the previous article you posted from the washington post noted that energy is cheapest in the largest energy users per capita states, i.e., wyoming, kentucky, and alabama. they just won't play ball and simply jack up the prices to double what they are today. the nerve of those states to charge less for electricity.

the Table provided in the above reference is very misleading. For example, Idaho is listed as 12 highest user. However, gas heat was rare when I lived there. At 30 below zero, the electric meter was rotating at more than several rpm. As my wife said, summer was the fourth of July and rest was winter.

The chart needs to relate to TOTAL ENERGY usage. The gas burned in the Los Angles traffic jam would have served all of Idaho.
