Absolutely. However, with the rise of China, most of these dictator states have an alternative buyer who doesn't care nearly as much as we do about human rights and Democracy. As such, we have almost no power in today's world. So I completely agree with you. The only way to regain our power to move countries back towards Democracy and freedom is for us to move towards alternative energy sources. That will impoverish the Middle East, Chavez, and Russia, which will force those countries to leverage human minds to bring wealth to their countries instead of oil, which will lead to different forms of government and economies.
