I am one of those weird people for whom drugs for pain rarely work. I didn't know that, until this summer. I was prescribed maybe 5 different drugs, some of which had really unpleasant side effects. I've never really had any medical problems, so I didn't know my system was odd- but when I started reading, it looks like many drugs only work on about 30% of the folks who get them, and the side effects can hit many more than that- so it behooves all of us to do some research, since the risk reward just isn't there for some drugs, and the doctors just don't have the time to check this stuff our for every patient. Clearly the "eunuch" side effect isn't to your liking :-)
