"Isn't the commandment "Thou shall not kill"; not "Thou shall not murder"?"

Umm, actually John, at the time the King James translation was done, 'kill' meant what we call 'murder'. If they wanted to say what we call 'kill', they would have used the word 'slay'.

JF, > Isn't the commandment "Thou shall not kill"; not "Thou shall not murder"?

It certainly does.

It also says that any time you look at someone with hate, you have already committed murder with your eyes.

Jesus' words are very clear on this. You might want to ask yourself why Jesus would carry the traditional commandment to an extreme, especially one that no one can follow.
