There is a much simpler way for the average bloke in the USA to escape income taxes. It's called a Roth IRA. You deposit post-tax money into the account, and it accumulates tax free. Withdrawals, with a few exceptions, are tax free. If you hit a 40-bagger on some stock like QCOM, then the gain is tax free! It's a lot more fun than moving to HK where you face crowded conditions, air pollution, SARS, bird flu, etc. Do you have anything like a Roth IRA in New Zealand? I suppose Helen would be opposed.
