My brother says he only has to filter the cooking oil he gets from the restaurants that cooked with it, in order to remove any particles that may be suspended in the oil. Other than installing the kit in the car, plus a fine filter and containers for the spent cooking oil, no special equipment is needed.

I'd follow my bro's lead but in very cold climates -- like Minnesota where I drive -- this is not a viable option because during the winter the oil will congeal beyond use.
