People need to realize getting a carry permit is not so simple. Unless you are a veteran you have to take a class (I took the class anyway as was curious about it and glad I did, learned some useful info) then you have to show the ABILITY to handle a handgun that includes loading, shooting and cleaning, you must have a relatively CLEAN police record, then you have to be fingprinted and photo Ided. IMHO anyone who has a permit to carry a concealed weapon is more likely then not to be a very honest upstanding citizen not likely to abuse the privilege. Imagin if even 25% of the adult population was armed, I think CRIME would CEASE to exist. At least violent person to person crime. We would have in effect a HUGE police force all FOR FREE. jdn
