Things don't happen because they're inevitable. People make history or at least people can push it one way or another. A question for you - if communism was inevitable because the Chiese people wanted it, why did not the HK Chinese favor communism as the rest did?

Mao knew better than you. He didn't harbor illusions about communism resting on majority will, he said power comes out of a barrel of a gun.

who am i defending?

You've defended the communists of China, SE Asia, and Russia. You said it would have been better for the US to stay out of the war against Japan and let communist Russia take Japan out as they would have punished Japan more, even if waiting on Russia tpo do that (assuming that Russia could have done that - a separate peace with Japan was more likely) had resulted in years more of the Japanese army in China killing Chinese by the million.

I pointed out that ironically for you, if the US had done as you wished - stayed out of the war in the Pacific and had not led the anti-communist side in the cold war - the HK freedom you cherish now almost certainly wouldn't exist.
