Peter, I have heard several estimates as to when all of that is going to happen, and each of them are different from the other. In the Bible, even Jesus told the apostles that no one would know when it was going to happen, and that all of the faithful should live their lives as if it was not going to happen. At any rate, if such a world ending event is going to happen, there is nothing any person can do to change it, so might as well live a well as you can, and should follow some of the teaching of Jesus regardless. His teachings lead to a better world.
