The NRA needs to be stood up against by all non rightwing extremist Americans. WHy? Because it has become like a huge corruptive parasite sucking on our government and bullying politicians to pass ultra-liberal automatic weapons laws and legalized murder laws. The NRA is after two things, more and more profits for the gun manufacturers, and to arm and embolden the far right which led to the Timothy McVeigh attack. There is nothing wrong with owning a gun or rifle. But the vast majority of Americans andn gun owners are not well represented by the NRA. They can exist, it's a free country, but should be known as and labeled as a rightwing fringe group and the gun lobby. Gun safety? BS. They don't give a damn about gun violence victims and never have. Meanwhile we have 200 million guns in this country and they're getting bigger and more deadly all the time. So of course Virginia Techs and Columbines are going to happen, more and more in fact.
