I don't believe that people are stuck in the dog-eat-dog reality. If that were true, we'd still be amoebas and fighting, quarreling ones at that.

:)

We've made much progress from our 'natural' roots both as individuals and as a species. We are not stuck. We have choices.

Certainly there are violent and thieving individuals but if they aren't valued in society, their genes will eventually drop out of the pool. I don't believe that most people are inherently grasping and greedy. I think most people are happy to be one of the crowd, be a member of the fat part of the bellcurve.

When people think that there are too few resources to go around, that's when they get grasping and greedy. IMO it's simply a reaction to fear. Get rid of the fear and that attitude goes away with it.

A child with an IQ of 70 is equal to a child with an IQ of 140 because they are both entitled to their equal share of the resources of this government. In fact, the child with an IQ of 70 may be provided more government resources because he requires additional education and help throughout his life. The resources should be allocated in order for all citizens to have a basic level of life that includes shelter, food, employment, healthcare, transportation, defense, etc.

Wouldn't this be a really good society to live in? We can have it. We know how to have it. We just keep the same wrong-headed ideas bubbling up in our minds and are prevented from having a really good society.

Frankly, we don't think big enough. We accept the mess that we're in and don't think that we can change it when, in reality, we can change it tomorrow.
