I like my guns. You must have missed that. I just don't want people walking around with them playing OK Corral. Keep them at home and play Fort Apache the Bronx in your own "castle" and kill your family if you must, but I don't want to see colleges as wide open gun carry zones. I think that would cause way more harm than good. And I'm not really hot on letting people have assault rifles. But if you think you're arguing with a stict "ban 'em all" gun person, you made an error.

Classic criminal types will always get guns- often stealing them from home robberies- and I think it's fine if people want to try to protect themselves at home. But the danger to society is too great to have people doing that sort of thing in public. I'm ok with specially trained people carrying in public- but that's about it.

since we live in a society where people have guns, how do you handle it?

Me personally - if I live in a place where guns are used often, I just move to a different place where its not used as often...

I notice you didn't respond to Dale's post showing that gun violence is greater in states with more lenient gun laws. Is it because you didn't wish to know that?
