They could be doing anything now, especially if they were just ordinary contractors who did not know what it was they were installing or for whom. On to the next job without a thought. Give a laborer a task to do and they will do it without questions, as long as they get paid. We are not talking about Rhodes scholars, we're talking about contrators with perhaps limited educations who might not even speak English. The physical part of the installation work is not the part that takes the brains or the mastermind of such an operation, it just requires hard working people and they are not in short supply in New York.
