On a per million person basis, nationmaster.com China is not in the big league. Look at Singapore go. No messing around there. No wonder it's so pleasant there. I did see one graffiti when I was there, so there is room for improvement. I was thinking the body parts industry could do well, but of course when there is execution only for known crimes, people tend not to do them if there is a possibility of being caught. To have a good supply of body parts, one would need to grab people randomly, but that would lead to civil disturbance as their families got irate. One thrashing of an American brat and graffiti by foreigners ceased immediately. Fortunately, they don't have executions for everything, as my wife inadvertently imported chewing gum illegally, which she uses for medical purposes, not just chewing on for fun and flavour, and wouldn't dream of polluting public places. She carefully wraps up used gum to dispose of. Even rubbish should be tidy in her book. It would have been richly ironic is she had been converted to body parts for her crime. After her many lectures on my evil-doing ways, I would have been highly amused while waving to her as she headed for the cells. Mostly though, those place doing the executions don't appeal to me in the slightest as places to live. The culture which produces criminals worth killing is not a culture which appeals to me. But I am not necessarily against executions. It would just be a lot nicer to avoid the criminals having such unpleasant misguided lives that they wish to be cruel and murderous themselves. Mqurice
