When NOK announced it was no longer in the CDMA market QCOM's stock tanked to under 40 due to the perception of lowered CDMA expectations. This is my recollection anyway and just reinforcing what Slacker just posted

I think more of the June downdraft can be attributed to the Reliance rumblings than the Nokia news. No doubt that legal problems played a roll in last summer's decline as well, but if the WCMDA market hits 120 million units last year and Reliance had remained happy in the CDMA camp, there is very little chance that we see the 30's.

This thread has been concentrated on the legal happenings, which obviously deserve consideration, but we cant ignore the effects of the changing fundamentals either. I'm looking forward to the earnings announcement. I know there will be a ton of questions on Nokia, but I think Q's strong fundamentals should get some attention. The dramatically stronger than expected MSM shipments and the fact that Japan and Korea both had very good March quarter handset shipments bodes well for guidance.
